This is the shocking moment a roof was ripped from a home by a storm in Indonesia.

Footage shows a metal panel being lifted by strong winds from a house in Samarinda City, East Kalimantan, on October 22.

Debris from the property was seen flying through the air as heavy rain continued, though no casualties were reported.

Authorities said the downpour had been ongoing since the morning, causing floods in several parts of the city. Water levels rose to halfway up vehicle tyres, creating widespread disruption for motorists and commuters.

Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has predicted that several regions, including southern equatorial areas such as Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, parts of Kalimantan, and southern Sulawesi, will soon enter the rainy season.
