This is the dramatic moment a festival stage collapsed during a powerful storm in Indonesia.

Footage shows panicked residents and organisers running from the site, while some were seen trying to hold up vendors' tents in Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi, on Wednesday afternoon.

Reports said strong winds hit the area as the stage for the 2025 Mamuju Festival was being set up at Manakarra Beach Pier in Binanga Village.

Heavy downpours and fierce gusts struck around 12:50 pm local time.

The festival, scheduled to open later that afternoon and run until November 7, was set to feature local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), along with a variety of entertainment.

No injuries were reported, but the opening was postponed following the freak weather.
