Firefighters rescued workers trapped when the medieval Torre dei Conti partially collapsed twice in Rome on Monday.

Footage shows emergency responders using a fire department aerial platform to assist individuals trapped inside the tower on November 3.

Hospital officials confirmed that one of the workers caught in the collapse has died.

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the victim was a Romanian national. Another Romanian worker was among three rescued from the rubble, with one reportedly in critical condition.

Authorities have opened an investigation into the incident.

The 95ft Torre dei Conti, dating back to the 13th century, is situated within the Roman Forum, a renowned tourist attraction in central Rome. However, the tower is separated from the main visitor areas by a road.
