Los Angeles, United States - November 06, 2025 11/06/2025 12:00 am GMT-0800 VERMONT-SLAUSON, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – On Thursday morning, a Los Angeles Police Department 77th Division unit reported being involved in a traffic collision at Florence and Menlo Avenue. Officers requested the presence of a supervisor and a traffic unit to assist with the incident. Preliminary information indicates that the officers struck a dog that was in the street, resulting in the death of the animal. A traffic unit subsequently arrived at the location to document the incident and photograph the scene for the investigation. The officers' Ford Explorer sustained damage to the front end. It remains unclear whether the dog's owner has been notified, as they were not present at the scene.
