The army rescued a family trapped by floods following torrential rain in Guatemala.

Footage shows members of the Guatemalan Army's Humanitarian and Rescue Brigade evacuating a young girl from the village of El Manantial, in the department of Izabal.

Rescue personnel wearing red helmets and high-visibility vests can be seen wading through deep floodwaters to reach stranded residents.

The team used ropes for safety as they moved through the submerged area on November 10.

Authorities said the flooding in El Manantial is part of a broader pattern of recurring natural disasters across the country, where heavy rains and flash floods are common, often intensified by deforestation and climate change.
