5. PALESTINIAN FLAGS RAMALLAH, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - NOV. 17, 2025: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and human rights organizations have called for urgent international action to stop Israel’s systematic crimes against Palestinian prisoners, on Monday, Nov. 17, following Israel’s intention to advance a bill allowing the execution of detainees.
Speaking at a press conference in Ramallah, West Bank, Omar Awadallah, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Palestinian Foreign Ministry, said Israel has turned its detention centers into torture sites designed to physically and psychologically destroy Palestinian individuals.
Awadallah said detainees are subjected to torture, humiliation, starvation and sexual assault, adding that bodies of prisoners returned from Gaza showed horrific signs of abuse and mistreatment.
There are currently over 10,000 Palestinians in Israeli prisons, including women and children, who face torture, starvation, and medical neglect, conditions that have caused numerous deaths, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights organizations.
More than 69,000 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and over 170,700 others injured in the Israeli war that reduced the enclave to rubble.
