Storyline: Rise of humanoid robots in China drives demand for core components [Voice_over] As humanoid robots leap from research labs to factories and homes in China, a parallel boom in demand has been triggered for essential robot parts. Things like reducers- an indispensable component for robots that enable precise control of movement and torque. A robotics maker in south China's Guangdong Province said the reducers they produce were mainly used on industrial robots, but this year, demand from the humanoid robot sector has risen significantly. [Sound_bite] Shen Xiaolong, general manager, robotics component company: "Our new orders has more than doubled this year. We plan to double our production capacity next year. Since the start of this year, the orders from the humanoid robot sector has already accounted for about 20 percent of our total orders." [Voice_over] Chinese robot manufacturers say the goal is not just making robots stronger, it's about making them smarter, too. Another robot manufacturer in Guangdong Province said they use self-developed controller products on their humanoid robots. [Sound_bite] Zhang Peng, Vice President, robotics company: "The controller acts as the robot's brain, governing its overall movement. The same technology can be applied to humanoid robots. The humanoid robot represents a vast market, with potential application scenarios like our homes, commercial spaces, and industrial settings." [Voice_over] Data from the Gaogong Robotics Industry Research Institute shows that the market size of China's humanoid robot industry is expected to reach 340 million U.S. dollars this year and about 20 billion in the next decade.
