This is the amusing moment a terrified cat cowered in fear as her owner scared her with a Godzilla action figure.

Ella Maristela and her partner, Andre Costa, were having their coffee when her boyfriend grabbed the monster toy and showed it to Meera, their Persian feline, in Cavite, the Philippines.

Footage shows Andre holding the figurine and slowly moving it in front of the eight-month-old grey kitten, who is intensely looking at it with her ears flattened, on December 7.

When the man sharply jerked the Godzilla toy forward, Meera hissed at it while maintaining eye contact.

Ella can be heard bursting into laughter at their pet's reaction.

Ella said: 'We played with Meera until Andre, my partner, took out the Godzilla action figure, which was just as big as her. Since animals are either curious or threatened when they encounter something unfamiliar, Meera naturally became hostile towards the action figure, which also became quite amusing to us since it was the very first time she reacted like that.

'She loves waking me and her fur-dad up by biting us and jumping around, so we also just kind of return the favour by messing with her. She's always sassy and loves doing zoomies.'
