Wildlife Conservation Win: RPF Recovers 102 Live Turtles on Doon Express Train in Gaya, Northern India

Operation Vilep was launched again in Gaya, Bihar. Under this operation, 102 live turtles were recovered from the Doon Express train in Gaya, Bihar. The estimated value of the turtles is said to be 5.1 million rupees.

This is the second success of the RPF operation. This is the second time in a week that live turtles have been recovered. Earlier this week, 74 turtles were recovered. This time, 102 live turtles have been recovered.

According to reports, Assistant Sub-Inspector Pawan Kumar of the Gaya RPF, along with several constables, was conducting the operation. During the patrol, they spotted a suspiciously placed bag in coach S3 of train number 13010 Doon Express.

An investigation was then launched. During the investigation, 102 turtles were recovered from bags and backpacks. However, the passengers on board were unable to provide any information regarding the turtles.

After this, all the tortoises were called to the Forest Department and handed over to them. All 102 tortoises were safely handed over to Forest Department Range Officer Aarti Kumari.

RPF Inspector-in-Charge Banarasi Yadav said this reflects the commitment towards wildlife conservation.The operation was carried out on the Doon Express train. During the operation, 102 live turtles were recovered, with an estimated market value of 5.1 million rupees. A case has been registered and further action is being taken in this matter.
