Los Angeles, United States - December 22, 2025 12/22/2025 11:26 am GMT-0800 TARZANA, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A hazardous materials incident is underway at a single-family home in the 18600 block of West Cassandra Street, authorities said Monday. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were decontaminating and transporting four patients, two men, ages 33, and two women, ages 28 and 23, who were reportedly exposed to an unknown substance. Their conditions remain unknown. A total of 16 people have been reportedly exposed. Additional resources have been requested to assist with scene management and decontamination operations. Officials said the hazard has not escalated beyond the residence. In an update Monday afternoon, the LAFD said two additional patients, a 32-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, were transported before the scene was declared a hazardous materials incident. In total, six patients were transported to a local hospital in fair condition. The LAFD identified the address where the patients were transported from as a sober living/recovery home. At this time, the substance has not been identified; however, LAFD HazMat specialists have confirmed all readings on air monitoring equipment are normal. There are no further updates.
