Fairgoers rescued from stalled Ferris wheel in Madrid
This is the dramatic moment fairgoers were rescued from a stalled Ferris wheel in Madrid.
The malfunction occurred on the last day of the Magical Christmas Park in Torrejon de Ardoz, on January 6.
Footage shows firefighters using an extended ladder with a rescue basket to reach the distressed holidaymakers atop the 115ft halted ride.
A standby ambulance was seen waiting to assist the victims.
Reports said at least 19 holidaymakers, including two children, were trapped on one of the park's main attractions.
Officials said the Ferris wheel's safety system detected a possible fault and automatically stopped the mechanism.
The evacuation was carried out without incident, and no injuries were reported.
