Walla Walla, United States - January 09, 2026 On New Year’s Eve, off-duty and on-duty police officers, together with local fire personnel, worked heroically to save a woman trapped in a burning vehicle. The crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. on eastbound Highway 12 near Rees Avenue. Off-duty Detective Daschofsky and Deputy Daschofsky from the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office were the first to arrive, immediately beginning life-saving efforts before other emergency responders reached the scene.
