Light aircraft crashes onto hillside in Goleta, California
Footage shows thick smoke billowing into the air from a burning plane on a hillside in Goleta, California.
Police reported that the small private aircraft exploded and plummeted near Highway 101 at Los Carneros and Storke Road on January 29.
Two occupants, a 29-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, suffered major injuries and were immediately sent to Cottage Hospital.
Firefighters reportedly managed to contain the blaze by 2:39 pm.
Law enforcement has secured the crash site, causing heavy traffic on Highway 101. The FAA and NTSB are investigating the incident.
