Bushfire rages as residents fear for their homes in Perth
A bushfire tore through suburbs on the outskirts of Perth, leaving residents fearing for their homes.
The blaze was first reported around 2 pm on Wednesday, with up to 13 ground crews and a water bomber deployed to battle the blaze along Roe Highway near Maida Vale Road.
Footage shows a fire truck heading to the site as smoke blanketed the area.
The filmer said: 'Although a snow bomb is forecast for the UK, here in Victoria we're on fire. 40 degrees Celsius heat, winds at 30-40 mph, and smoke everywhere.'
Authorities confirmed the flames had scorched at least 10 hectares of native vegetation and bushland. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
