This is the shocking moment parents battled to free a toddler who became trapped inside a toy bucket in China.

The young boy was playing in his living room when he squeezed his lower body into the transparent container in Shaanxi province.

Upon realising he could not move, he burst into tears, prompting his mother and grandmother to rush to his aid. To their horror, they found his legs and hips were wedged tightly inside the vessel.

Footage shows the child wailing in distress as his mother attempts to pull him free while his grandmother tries to calm him down on December 28.

At one point, the mother carefully laid her son on a table, propping his head on a pillow as she tried to tug the container off, but her attempts were unsuccessful.

The mother later said: 'We had a real struggle removing my son from the vase, but we eventually managed to pull him out. Thankfully, he wasn't hurt.'
