Fuel tanker collision sparks deadly explosion on highway in Nefteyugansk, Russia
On January 12, 2026, in Nefteyugansk, Russia, a dashcam video captured a serious highway accident involving a fuel tanker on the Tyumen–Khanty-Mansiysk highway. In the video, the driver of a MAN fuel tanker reportedly swerved into the oncoming lane to avoid a tractor and collided with a KamAZ truck. The impact caused the diesel tanker to catch fire and explode, triggering a large blaze at the scene. Reports indicate that the KamAZ driver died as a result of the crash, while the cab of the MAN fuel truck was completely destroyed by fire. The highway was partially closed for several hours as emergency services responded and traffic was rerouted.
