Heroic moment man dives into frozen lake to rescue wailing stray dog that fell through ice
On January 19, 2026, in a park in Beijing, a stray dog accidentally fell into a frozen lake while trying to drink water and struggled to escape.
A citizen first tried to rescue it by throwing a swimming ring, but was unsuccessful. Subsequently, a kindhearted man took off his clothes in the cold weather and used his palms to break the ice, jumping into the icy lake shirtless to rescue the dog.
According to Ms. Zhao, the videographer, the dog was sent to a pet hospital for treatment after being brought ashore and is currently in good condition, just slightly stressed. The veterinarian estimates that the puppy is only 3 months old, and it has now been adopted by a kind person.
