A shopper used a convenience store machine to transform ordinary fizzy drinks into icy slushies.

Thanaporn Chatcharaporn bought a bottle of Coca-Cola at a 7-Eleven in Bangkok, Thailand, and used the specialized device attached to the fridge to turn the liquid icy.

Footage shows the customer placing the bottle upside down in the cradle before pressing a button on January 28.

Moments later, the liquid can be seen gradually freezing from the top to the bottom, prompting the woman to remove the refreshing, slushy drink to enjoy.

Experts said that the liquid turns into ice because the machine's vibration triggers nucleation in a supercooled drink, causing a rapid chain reaction that crystallises the liquid into a slushie in seconds.
