A group of heroic soldiers used a makeshift rope made out of their training uniforms to rescue a villager trapped in a frozen river in northern China.

Video filmed in the city of Changchun in Jilin Province on March 4 shows a man who had fallen through the ice on a river and two soldiers trying to use emergency sticks to break the ice to open a route.

After that, a soldier threw a makeshift rope made by three training uniforms to the man and pulled the man out of the frozen river with the help of three other soldiers.

The man was sent to hospital for treatment and he was not injured seriously.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
