This is the moment a monitor lizard is rescued from a conveyor belt at an Airport in India.

The security personnel spotted the lizard crawling on a stationary belt at Biju Pattnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on August 4.

Before they could try to remove it, the lizard rushed to hide under the conveyor belt.

The Air Traffic Control office called Snake Helpline for help and two volunteers went to the spot and gently extricated the three-year-old reptile.

"Monitor lizards on the runway pose threat to the aeroplanes. So, we released it in a forest outside the city,” said Subhendu Mallik of Snake Helpline.
