This was the heart-stopping moment two students risked their life to cross a flooded river in an Indian village.

A video shows them precariously crawling on all four limbs on a pipeline, which is hanging over raging waters.

A small slip would mean a definite tragedy though fortunately both the students make it to safety.

The incident occurred at Koti village of Panchkula district in Haryana on September 24.

A video of their plight was shot by a man, who introduces himself as a primary school teacher of the same village.

He urges the viewers to share the video to put pressure on the government to build a bridge across the River Ghaggar, which links the village to the outside world.

He says the water level in the river had risen when the students had gone to their school. After waiting for a few hours they had no choice but to crawl back home on a pipe line, which had had been laid to provide drinking water to their village.
