A 2-year-old cat that fell 40-ft down a dry well was rescued by a team of rescuers in Vadodara in Gujarat in India.

A passerby heard the mews of the cat and leaned into the well only to find it trapped inside it.

He then called a team of rescuers who arrived at the spot with a cage to rescue out the cat from inside the dry well.

A video captured by one of the rescue team officials shows the entire team rounded near the well. A few team workers are busy assembling a cage to trap the animal inside it in order to pull it out.

Within moments, the rescue workers tie a rope and lower the cage down the pit.

As soon as the pit is lowered, the cat steps inside it and is pulled out immediately.

The cat is clearly visible safe and uninjured in the video. It was later taken to the vet to be examined and then released in the animal shelter.

The animal rescue team appreciated the locals for a good awareness and saving the life of a mute animal.

The rescue workers educated the locals and insisted them to keep their wells properly covered to avoid any stray animals from falling into it.
