A 13-year-old tigress popularly known as "Collarwali" has given birth to four more cubs, making her the mother of 30 cubs in the last ten years, which may be a record according to forest officials.

Officials confirmed that tourists spotted the Royal Bengal tigress "T-15", also known as "Collarwali", with four cubs in the Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR) in Madhya Pradesh state in central India, on January 27.

Officials said this was the eighth litter of Collarwali, and that she had given births to 25 cubs in seven earlier litters.

A forest official commented: "Collarwali looks young, and going by her beauty and robust health, she might create another record hopefully by living beyond 20 years. Look at the feline, it seems that she might survive 22 years,"

The tigress has been nicknamed 'Collarwali' because of the radio collar that was attached to her in 2009. She is also known as the 'Queen of Pench'.

The tigress was born in September 2005 and brings in huge revenue for the PTR as hundreds of tourists drawn from different parts of India, besides foreigners, turn up to catch a glimpse of the majestic beast.
