A man snatches a chain from an elderly woman Parvathy of Kairal Garden colony at Thirumala in Thiruvananthapuram on 6th January around 10:30 AM . Parvathy was returning home at 10:30 am after visiting a temple. The accused approached the women pretending to ask for an address and then snatched her chain and fled on his motorcycle. The crime was captured by the cctv cameras installed there. Soon the control room officials passed the information and identification details of accused to police. Traffic cop Biju Kumar was on duty at Museum junction when he received the message. Biju scanned the area and found out a motorcycle that shared similar identifications parked near Kanakakkunnu Palace. He waited near the motorcycle and detained acused Sajeev (28 years) and handed him over to police. He was then taken to Poojapura police station, where he was arrested
