Snake attacks fireman after being caught hiding in a pile of shoes
This snake in central Thailand tried to attack a fireman after being caught hiding in a pile of SHOES outside a hotel room.
A guest at the motel in Saraburi spotted the serpent's long tail when they returned home on the evening of May 10. The snake had slithered into a hiding place among several pairs of shoes outside one of the room.
Fortunately, none of the guests attempted to use their footwear while the radiated ratsnake was lurking. The emergency services arrived to catch the 6ft long snake which spread its fangs and repeatedly lunged at the rescue worker.
Thankfully the non-venomous reptile was seized after several minutes and dragged into the car park, where it was stuffed inside a fertiliser bag to be released safely into the wild.
Factory worker Bongkot Kulthi, 21, who noticed the snake said he ''ran away when he saw it''.
He commented: ''I had come back from work to return to my accommodation when I saw the snake against the wall. I disturbed it and it went crazy so I ran away as quickly as I could.''
Khun Chanwit from the local rescue group said the snake was searching for insects or lizards to eat.
He added: ''These snakes are not venomous so they are harmless to humans but it is always best to report them.''
