Dung-covered car keeps cool in the scorching heat, Gujarat India
In the Gujarat state of Ahmedabad in India a women named Sejal Shah has coated her sedan car with cow dung claiming that it keeps her car cool even without air-conditioning on May 25.
Sejal Shah's Toyota Altis became an internet sensation soon after its cow dung coated photos went viral. On top of that, the sedan has become an eye-catcher with the red and white motifs on the edges.
Ms Shah says the coating keeps her car cooler in summers and warmer in winters.
Sejal says "It not only keeps my car cool but also helps in preventing pollution.
The harmful gases that are released while we use car AC increase the temperatures and contribute to global warming. I drive my car switching off the AC as the cow-dung keeps it cool.
I got this idea as I used to put cow-dung on the floor and walls of my house. It keeps the house cool. Hence I decided to put it over my car,"
Apparently applying cow dung paste on the walls and floors of mud-houses is a common practice in rural India. It keeps the house cooler in summers and warmer in winters.
Footage shows the Ms Shah maneuvering her Toyota Altis showing off the applied cow dung. The filmer also shows the car from different angles to exhibit how the layer of manure had been applied.
There appears to be lines drawn in the bovine excrement which has also been decorated by a floral patterned border.
