Flash floods swept a 4x4 away after the driver tried to force their way through the submerged road in southern China.

The clip, captured in Ganzhou City in Jiangxi Province on June 7, shows a car getting stuck in the deep floodwater after it drove into the submerged street.

The driver and one passenger were reportedly trapped in the car.

Local villagers called the police and then used bamboo sticks to try and prevent the car from being washed away.

The two people in the car opened the driver's window to escape and villagers on the bank used a stick to pull the driver back to safety.

According to reports, the passenger drowned when rescuers found him after an hour.

6月7日下午，田村镇遭受大暴雨袭击，多处农田被淹，河道水位上涨。下午4时许，在田村镇月坪村一涉水路段，一男子驾驶皮卡车通过涉水路段，不幸连人带车被无情的洪水冲入湍急的洪流中。
开始时，皮卡车由于底盘较高，走得还算平稳，可是在行至中间时，由于驾驶员低估了洪水的威力，皮卡车慢慢被洪水冲击得失去了平衡，很快，皮卡车瞬间被无情的洪水冲下了水流湍急的黄沙河中央。当时车上有一名驾驶员和一名乘客，两人一起被卷入了洪水。事故发生后，当地村民马上报警，很快公安、消防、交警、医疗急救等人员赶到了事故现场，同时，多家社会民间公益救援队也赶往现场展开救援。
此时已经有很多闻讯赶来的村民，大家都在参与救援。由于洪水太大，皮卡车还在洪水中摇晃，为了不让皮卡车往下游冲走，当地村民们纷纷动手用竹竿将皮卡车顶住，所幸皮卡车最终被村民截停在河中央。车上的两名男子，都是田村镇根山村人，其中一位坐在后排座位，车子被冲下黄沙河洪水中时，驾驶员及时将驾驶室车窗玻璃打开后逃出车外，岸上的村民们就将竹竿传给洪水中的皮卡车驾驶员，让其拽住竹竿成功将其拉上岸。
