Anti corruption activists protest outside German Consulate in Cape Town

South African activist group Unite Behind, held a peaceful protest outside the German Consulate in Cape Town.

Unite Behind is demanding that German companies involved in the tender to supply railway locomotives be investigated and prosecuted for corruption.

The group is calling for action against several German companies as well as the subsidiaries of German companies in other countries.

South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeal found that there was a corrupt relationship between Swifambo Rail Leasing and Vossloh Espana SA (a subsidiary of Vossloh AG in Germany), in their supply of railway stock to PRASA (Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa).
