Mystery 'blob-like' sea creature caught by fisherman in the Gulf of Thailand
A fisherman caught this bizarre jelly-like sea creature in the Gulf of Thailand.
Satid Wangnurak, 24, hauled up his net off the coast of Songkhla province on August 28 when he noticed the grey blob.
The intrigued fisherman laid out the mystery creature on a wooden bench and watched as it shuffled slowly along the red surface.
Satid was curious about the identity of the weird creature and asked friends before looking online, however nobody was able to identity the strange creature.
Satid, who has lived along the coast since he was born and been a fisherman all his working life, said: ''I don't know what it is and nobody I spoke to knew what it was.
''I don't think it was dangerous because it was moving so slowly and there were no bright colours or sharp parts. But I was still very careful not to touch it with my hands.''
The fisherman threw the creature back overboard while it was still moving.
He added: ''It could be some kind of mutant but it's best to throw any rare species back into the ocean where they belong.''
