Brave rescue workers caught two fighting snakes with their bare hands from inside a mansion in Thailand.

Resident Yuwadee Wisutthi, 54, was resting on the sofa when she heard the snakes fighting in her house in Chanthaburi province on Wednesday (17/09) afternoon.

The housewife ran outside screaming and ordered her nephew to call the emergency services to catch the serpents.

Nattaphon Suerngam arrived and found a 15ft-long king cobra coiled up in one corner and a smaller rat snake in another corner.

They ditched their tools and decided to catch the reptiles with their bare hands.

Yuwadee said she was terrified when she saw the two snakes battling on her clean white marbled floor.

She: "I just came back from a trip outside and wanted to relax when I saw the two snakes. They started fighting.

"I had no idea how many snakes were in my house because I was too scared to count. I just ran away and called my nephew.''

The rescue team took the snakes onto the driveway and began playing with them to try to help the homeowner relax.

They were then released.
