Three loyal pet dogs defend owner from gun-wielding attacker
Three loyal pet dogs tackled a gun-wielding intruder who tried to attack their master.
The dogs rushed outside when Adisak Prakhongwong, 42, burst into the family's front yard in Rayong, eastern Thailand, on Sunday (Jan 5) night.
Disgruntled neighbour Adisak pointed the pistol at Mai Boonyuen, 52, to try and settle an ongoing land boundary dispute between the two.
But when the tussle escalated - with Mai retaliating with a golf club - the heroic dogs leapt into the fray.
CCTV footage shows how the dogs - named Kafae, Samlor, and Nadam - surrounded the intruder as he pointed the .22 pistol at their owner.
The dogs repeatedly nipped his arms and legs during the scuffle, helping Mai to chase away the crazed attacker.
Mai, who was injured on his head and legs, said that the neighbour broke into his yard after their dispute escalated in recent weeks.
He said: "I protected my self by hitting the intruder with a golf club, then my pet dogs pounced on him, saving me and my wife."
Mai said that he and the gun holder had a conflict about the neighborhood boundary line for several years. He believes that Adisak wanted to assault the family to end the issue.
He said: "Dogs are the greatest protectors in the world. Kafae, Samlor, and Nadam were all homeless before we took them in. I don't have any regret having been taking care of them as pets."
Police Captian Tongdao Kotlakkham of Mueang Rayong police station arrived at the scene and took the intruder to the hospital for treatment to his injuries. He was then transferred to the police station for questioning.
The policeman said: "Adisak was charged with the illegal possessing of gun. Other allegations will be discussed further with the police team."
