Man 'attacks woman during apartment rampage' in Switzerland as police look on
Shocking footage shows a violent man rampaging through his apartment as a terrified woman screams for help.
The incident happened at an apartment on the Rue de l'Athenee in Champel, Geneva, Switzerland on March 19 after a coronavirus lockdown was rolled out.
It came amid restrictions in the area which closed bars and restaurants with gatherings of more than five people being banned.
Onlookers said the man violently beat a woman in this apartment. He then threw objects out of the window, including a computer.
Footage shows police outside the building. They later entered the building and the man was detained.
The alleged victim was taken to the Geneva University Hospital to receive treatment after she was rescued.
According to local media, firefighters, ambulance, police cars and emergency medical service from HUG intervened.
Police confirmed that they intervened ''around 5:00 p.m.'' and said the country's Public Prosecutor had taken control of this case.
