Footage shows police checking cars travelling between provinces in southern Thailand on March 27th as they increase Covid-19 lockdown measures.

Thailand has been under a state of emergency since March 26 - banning foreigners from entering the country and placing checks on travelling between regions.

Thailand has been under a state of emergency since March 26 - banning foreigners from entering the country and placing checks on travelling between regions.

Officers visited a checkpoint at the Trang-Phattalung border in Trang in the south of the country, which has also seen coronavirus cases.

The provincial governor Luechai Charoensap said: "I want to speak on behalf of all the residents to thank the officers for their hard work to help the country fight the virus."

The citizens travelling under the state of emergency will have to pass checkpoints every time they will cross the provinces.

Those who have body temperature exceed 37.5 degree Celcius will be held at the checkpoint for second check and if it still exceed they will be sent to hospital for the Covid-19 tests.
