Sand artist’s heart-wrenching tribute to pregnant elephant killed after being fed firecracker fruit in Kerala

A Pregnant elephant lost her life after she was fed with a pineapple full of firecrackers. The wild elephant strayed into a village near Silent Valley National Park in Palakkad on 27th may.

The pineapple filled with crackers exploded in the elephant's mouth and it walked for days in agony before it went into a river and died standing.

India's renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattanaik paying his tribute, as well as, condemning the cruel act carved a heartwrenching mural on the sand of the elephant with her baby in her womb.

Widespread anger erupted in India, with common people, eminent personalities, and celebrities speaking against the horrific killing of a pregnant lady elephant in Kerala.
