A rare bridle snake was spotted for the first time in southern India's Karnataka.

The visual came out of the Star Associated factory in Udyambag of Belgaum district on July 22.

The video shows the magnificent reptile sneaking behind the bushes and slithering on the rocks.

Reports suggest the snake was spotted by the factory workers while they were looking for a bigger snake species that strayed into the area.

According to reports, the snake is 1-feet-long and three-years-old.

The brown-colored snake is non-venomous and bears a striking resemblance to the common wolf snakes.

The yellow mark on the back of the head suggests a bridal veil.

Bridle snakes are so named because of the resemblance of their slim bodies to the reins or 'bridle' used to control horses.

The snake has white scaled and the belly is pearly in color.

It can grow up to 2-feet-long and lays about six inches.

This snake is nocturnal and is found in mountainous areas and is likely to enter homes to feast on lizards.

Previously the snake was spotted in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Orissa.

Sources suggest locals in Karnataka spotted the species of snakes for the first time and extensive research is required to protect them.

According to the rescuer and the snake experts, the government, the forest department, and researchers need to come together and pay earnest attention to this.
