In this heartwarming video, a mother elephant can be seen helping her struggling baby calf climb out of the riverbank of the Bornodi river.

The incident occurred in the Baksa district of Assam on July 23.

"When I heard the sound of the elephant, I ran towards the river and saw a herd of elephants crossing the river, all the elephants easily climbed on the riverbank, but at last, the baby elephant was struggling to climb," Imran Bhuyan, the filmer said.

"The mother elephant can be seen bending down on knees to help baby calf come out."

In a heartwarming incident, two elephants, including the mother, can be seen helping a calf scale a tall riverbank in northeastern India's Assam.

The visual came out of Baska district on July 23.

The video shows three elephants trying to cross a river and attempts to climb a tall riverbank on the other side.

The mother and the other elephants climbed up with ease while the calf was left behind.

Following this, the mother and the other elephant helped the calf to get out of the swirling river.

The adult elephant tried to push the calf out of the river using her trunk as support.

Reports suggest the calf successfully scaled the bank and was pulled to safety by the other elephants in the herd.
