As a swift response, a disaster relief team and locals managed to rescue a biker who was swept away with high currents while attempting to cross a submerged causeway, while the other man was brought out dead, in northern India’s Uttarakhand.

The incident took place on August 13 in Pithoragarh, following which a State Disaster Response Force team rushed to the spot.

Video from the rescue shows disaster team members standing firm in heavy flow of water, attempting to pull out the drowned man's body.

They can be seen holding the man's arm, trying to draw him out of the water, but failing in their first attempt.

The rescuers then proceed to budge the bike weighing the man down, and proceed to draw him out.

The other man was successfully rescued by the disaster relief team.
