River overflows causing flooding in the Philippines

This is the moment water came gushing from an overflowing river and flooded homes in the Philippines.

Heavy rains brought by tropical depression Nika, alongside the southwest monsoon, leading to a two-meter rise in the water level of Angat Dam in Bulacan province.

In the video taken by Isabelo Santo, the water burst through roads and swamped homes in Pulo-Maronquillo Boundary via Viola Highway, San Rafael on October 11.

Isabelo Santo said: "The weather was so bad that we did not enjoy our trip, but at least no one was hurt. All of the rice fields in the area were covered with water so they will be damaged.''

Ths Philippines and neighbouring Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia have all seen severe flooding I recent days as the Southeast Asia region hits the peak of its annual rainy season.
