A hyper-poisonous banded krait snake was spotted devouring a checkered keelback snake after straying into a residential area in northeastern India's Assam on October 23. The incident took place in Tezpur of Sonitpur.

A video shows the black-and-yellow-striped snake swallowing the relatively smaller snake down whole, all at once before being rescued by the rescue team. The rescuer, Saurav Borkataki, using a snake catcher to rescue the poisonous snake.

He later places the snake in tiny sac to release it into the wild. A video from its release shows the black sac being tossed into the wild out of which the banded krait slithers away into the dark of the night.
