Rat snake lunges at man trying to rescue it
This is the shocking moment a radiated rat snake bit a man while he was trying to rescue it.
Motorist Parinya Herp Pawangkhanant recorded the aggressive snake when he tried to lead it out of the road and away from danger in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand.
Parinya said: "My friends and I wanted to take it back into the woods as it blocked the car lanes. The animal was too fierce, it bit me. Luckily, it was a nonvenomous snake."
The radiated rat snake, or copperhead rat snake, is a nonvenomous species of colubrid snake.
