This is the terrifying moment a snake falls onto a woman from an office ceiling.

Supasorn Chanpordaeng, 25, was collecting documents from a desk in the back room of a restaurant when she heard an unusual movement above her on October 27.

CCTV footage shows her looking up to find the source of the noise, only for the serpent to plunge from the rafters.

Supaporn screamed in terror, moving out of the way with seconds to spare as the snake landed just inches away from her.

It knocked her phone and pens to the floor as it slithered under a table. Animal rescuers later arrived at the restaurant in Khon Kaen province, northeast Thailand, to catch the creature.

Supasorn said: 'I was standing there working when the snake suddenly dropped down. It was a copperhead rat snake. They are not poisonous, but they can be quite dangerous if they bites.

'I don't know where it came from. Perhaps it wanted to visit the restaurant to have pork for lunch.

'It has never happened before. Now I look up to see what is in the ceiling when I go into the office.'

The copperhead rat snake is a non-venomous snake native to South and Southeast Asia, often found in forests, fields, and near human settlements. It is known for its copper-colored head and patterned body, and primarily feeds on rodents and birds.
