Apartheid SA flag displayed at farmers march to parliament amidst calls for action from President Ramaphosa

Hundreds of protesters carrying white crosses marched to the South African Parliament demanding intervention from government to end farm murders in the country.

Farmers allege that there is a direct attack on their lives in the country, as the incidents of farm crime increase.

The farming community is predominantly made up of Afrikaners.

Protesters chanted " Die Boere Kom" the direct translation of the phrase is the farmers are coming, but in the South African context the term Boer refers to the Afrikaners.

The apartheid South African flag was also displayed.

The Western Cape MEC for Agriculture, Ivan Meyer says that as Chairperson of the African Union, President Ramaphosa must take action as farm attacks threaten food security and political stability on the continent.
