Tidal surges caused by Typhoon Molave hit resorts in Puerto Galera, Philippines on Monday (October 26).

Guests were instructed to stay inside their rooms while Typhoon Molave brought heavy rains packed with strong winds in several provinces in Luzon island.

Footage shows flooding and boats swaying violently while buildings overlooking the sea are bombarded with surges.

More than 50,000 people have been displaced by the typhoon as it swept through the Southern Tagalog region, where it made landfall while moving westwards.

Most of the evacuees were from villages that are prone to landslides, flash floods, storm surges, and mudflows.

The weather state bureau said the typhoon is expected to exit the country tomorrow (October 27).
