Rescuers in central India continued today (November 7th) trying to reach a four-year-old boy who fell down a 200ft borehole.

The child, identified as Prahlad, fell into the hole in Satpura village in Madhya Pradesh on the morning of November 4th. He got stuck 59 feet below ground.

Teams from the National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF), State Disaster Rescue Force (SDRF), Indian Army and local police are assisting with the rescue which has been underway since Wednesday evening (November 4th).

The rescuers are digging a long tunnel and they hope to reach the child by the end of the day.

A 4-year-old child fell into a 200-feet deep borewell in central India's Madhya Pradesh on the morning of November 4.

The incident took place in the Saitpura village in the Niwari town of the Tikamgarh district.

A rescue operation has been in effect since Wednesday evening, while the child has been stuck underground for over 66 hours.

Footages from the rescue operation feature teams from different government organizations leaving no stone unturned to rescue the toddler at the earliest of time. A tunnel is being dug since Wednesday, while a medical team is present on the spot to tend to the child.

The rescue operation is going on in full swing under governmental supervision. Members of the National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF), State Disaster Rescue Force (SDRF), Indian Army, local police, and the parliament can be seen on site.

State Disaster Rescue Force (SDRF) teams from Lucknow, Sagar, Tikamgarh, and Gwalior have been pressed into the effort of the operation.

The 4-year old, identified as Prahlad, fell into the 200-feet deep borewell and got stuck 59-feet below the ground. A 24-feet slant tunnel is being dug simultaneously along with a 65-feet tunnel to rescue the toddler.

An oxygen mask was lowered to the child on Wednesday. However, Prahlad has stopped showing signs of any movement since Thursday. A medical team is positioned on-site that will rush Prahlad to the Jhansi Medical College after giving him first-aid.

The rescue operation is functioning under the expertise of the Indian Army personnel, while the Chief Minister of the state also expressed his concern via an official statement on Friday.

The 65-feet tunnel has been dug while only 4-feet remains to be dug of the adjoining slanting tunnel. The child is expected to be rescued by the end of the day on November 7.
