A sweet shop in Surat, Gujarat has launched a series of "Golden Sweets" to celebrate Diwali.

Footage from November 14 shows the queues outside the shop as many take part in the shop's gold rush.

The sweets retail for a whopping £91 ($119), but this is normal for the area of Gujarat, which is known for its gold and diamonds.

Additional footage shows the selection of confectionery where the special 24-carat gold leaf-covered sweets are on display.

The actual sweet is made of dry fruits and Gulkand, but the shop has replaced the silver sheet - which they generally use for covering sweets -with a gold one.

The 80-year-old brand wanted to make the festival grand this year and opted to cover the dry fruit in gold.
