Belarus police detained more than 200 people in Minsk on Sunday during the latest in months of anti-government protests since a disputed presidential election in August.
Protest organisers this week asked people to gather in dozens of different spots all across Minsk before forming bigger groups, to make it more difficult for police to control the crowd.
An eyewitness filmed the detention of people near the Vostok metro station. Beads and police drove up to the people, from where several people jumped out. The detainees were subjected to force and beaten with batons.
