STORYLINE:

A truck with a trailer turned into the wrong direction on Directorio Avenue, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Flores, climbed onto the sidewalk and collided with two trucks, one in motion and the other parked, and a cyclist.

The incident occurred in front of the corner where last Thursday a four-year-old boy who was crossing the street with his mother was killed by a motorist who was traveling at high speed on the same avenue. This Monday morning, seven blocks from the place, on the corner of Nazca and Bogotá, a car hit an EcoSport truck, whose driver died hours later.

The truck that carried out the third accident, which was identified as Miguel, got out of the vehicle and spoke at the scene with the injured, who have already begun to be treated at the scene and transferred in SAME ambulances to the Piñero Hospital.

The discussion between the various parties involved was televised practically live, since different media were also there covering the tragic accident that occurred five days ago.

"I was coming to San Pedrito in green, the cars began to cross me and I had no choice but to turn," explained Miguel, the driver of the vehicle visibly nervous, while he was rebuked by neighbors and merchants in the area. "I did not send myself against it. I wanted to dodge the cars and the truck came this way because I'm very loaded”.

"I did not want to kill people, I had no choice," justified the driver, who assured that in 10 years of experience as a driver he never had a similar episode.

A security camera located in that corner captured the exact moment of the accident: in principle, although it is true that the traffic light was about to cut on Directorio, in the images it seems to be clear that the truck did indeed cross when the traffic light was no longer there. in green and did not stop.

When turning into the avenue, the truck - which was transporting groceries from the Escobar district to Lugano - hit head-on with a white Renault Kangoo truck that was embedded under the vehicle, another red truck of the same model that collided sideways and a cyclist that was circulating along the avenue and, when he saw the truck, he threw himself on the sidewalk. His bicycle was completely dented under the truck. The truck also took a lamp post and tore off a piece of traffic light.

“I'm still a little scared, sorry. I was riding my bike, I was going to work. I saw it turn green and when I saw the truck turn, all I did was throw myself and from here I saw that it was grabbing the Kangoo. I could not stand up, I have a blow on my leg that is inflaming", explained the cyclist from the sidewalk while waiting to be treated by a doctor.

“I was circulating well and this truck hit me at full speed and I said it kills me, it carries me, it crushes me. I barely dodged it. I could not believe it. Above in the same place of the crash of the other time. I can't speak, sorry. It was seconds", added the driver of the red truck, shocked. "When I got out of the truck, the driver said 'what do you want me to do?'".

The corner where the truck's failure occurred around 12 noon, is the same one on which last Thursday, around 11 p.m., Débora Inés Agosti, 45, and her 4-year-old son were crossing when they were hit at high speed for a hit-and-run white Volkswagen Golf GTI.

SOUNDBITE: MIGUEL, Truck driver
"I was driving when they start to pass me in yellow light. It's a long truck, it takes up a block to cross... because they start to cross in yellow, and in order not to crash them I had to stop and it didn't give me the brake, because I have been picking up speed from the other traffic light, and I am coming from the right, respecting the lane, what I did now was maneuver and not kill people which was my fright, that's why I had to maneuver like that, but I don't have another one, luckily there are no injuries, we're fine".
