This is the moment a brave Aussie dad caught a wild gonna in his daughter's bedroom and released it into the wild.

Thomas Lundsgaard got a call at work on December 12 from his kids that the massive lizard had been chased across the patio by the family dog and had run into his daughter's room.

"My daughter was desperate so I rushed home from work," said Lundgaard.

"I put my best protective gear on and with some great teamwork and as gentle as possible we finally caught the angry and scared goanna and got him into a big box," he added.

They then drove for 20 minutes and released the reptile in the bush in a place they call Koala Forest.

Occasionally goanna attacks cause serious injury to humans but most experts say the reptiles only attack when threatened.
