Distressed Cheetah searches and calls for his missing brother

Cheetahs (Acinonyx jubatus) are the world’s fastest land mammal and adults are able to run at 80 to 128 kilometres per hour (50-80 mph). They are unusual cats with non-retractable claws, and unlike Leopards and Lions, are active by day. Male Cheetahs, usually brothers, form coalitions and spend time together hunting and relaxing. This male Cheetah in the northern part of Kruger National Park lost contact with his brother and was distressed, trotting through the bush, calling, checking for scents on road sign plinths and marking trees with urine. He ran and called for his brother for nearly three hours before finally locating him. Reunited, the brothers relaxed together.
