This is the agonising moment an overloaded truck toppled over while turning a tight corner.

The two-trailer lorry was delivering freshly harvested sugarcane to a factory in Nong Bua Lamphu province, northern Thailand, on January 22.

However, the vehicle was stacked too heavily with the crops while it tried to turn into the entrance road of the plant, where sugar is made.

CCTV footage shows how the truck made a sharp turn while travelling too fast – causing the trailers to lean to the left.

The panic-stricken driver slammed on the brakes to try and avert disaster but it was too late and the vehicle was dragged down with the weight of the sugarcane.

Emergency services arrived and took the driver to the hospital where he was treated for concussion after being flung around the cabin.

He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt – which contributed to his injuries.

Paramedics from the EMS rescue team reminded drivers to take care while travelling on rural roads.

They said: ‘We sympathise with the driver and the owner of the factory. Nobody wants this kind of accidents to happen.’
